New Germany's 125th anniversaryMemory tree

With a population of 372 at the last census, New Germany wouldn’t be classified as “big” – unless, of course, one is referring to the magnitude of its 125th anniversary preparations.

More than 30 volunteers met monthly at New Germany City Hall from 2010 until the festival, making plans for the town’s quasquicentennial celebration, July 13-15, 2012.

Events included the lighting of a special Memory Tree (right), as well as live music, a history display, softball tournament, 5K adult and children’s run, craft fair, children’s activities, car show, tractor show, fireworks, parade, and more.
